I remember closing at Bagel St. one night with my buddy Bill Anderson who is a very original cat and cool as hell. He played this and we really rocked out, I had all but forgotten about Gogol Bordello until I heard the song again, at 6:00 in the morning before the inaguration in DC. The kid who played it was from eastern europe and loved how the band stayed true to its roots, if it wasn’t for my bud Murat, this song and band could have slipped into oblivion. Alright, enough said start wearing purple.
“Kind of like the Pogues and the Clash in a bar fight…”
